First Lesson! Dialogues and nationalities

A1 (Elementary) Vocabulary Teens Adults

This is a well-structured first lesson for A1 learners. It introduces essential phrases for greetings and self-introductions, as well as basic country and nationality vocabulary.

Objectives:

  • Practice greetings and asking/answering basic questions (name, origin, feelings).

  • Learn and use vocabulary for countries and nationalities.

Activities:

  • Listen to and complete short dialogues.

  • Role-play introductions with given and personal information.

  • Vocabulary practice: match flags, unscramble and complete nationalities.

  • Interactive games and guessing activities (Wordwall, Canva).

Why it’s useful:

  • Gives students the tools to start communicating from the very first class.

  • Builds confidence through simple, guided dialogues and interactive activities.

  • Lays the foundation for future lessons by practicing speaking, listening, and vocabulary in a clear, step-by-step way.
