Present Tenses Revision

A2 (Pre-Intermediate) Teens

This lesson focuses on revising the Present Simple, Present Continuous, and Present Perfect tenses. Students practice identifying the correct tense through guided tasks and apply them in different contexts.

The lesson begins with a lead-in activity. Then, learners review the rules of the three tenses and match them to example sentences.

In the practice stage, students:

  • Make sentences about their own lives using Present Simple, Continuous, and Perfect.

  • Work with prompts to describe people in different tenses.

  • Correct false statements and rewrite them in negative form.

  • Practice asking and answering questions about habits, current actions, and experiences.

The lesson also includes a listening activity. Students listen for main topics, fill in missing phrases, and reflect on how the speakers use different tenses.

Finally, in the productive stage, learners create their own short dialogues on topics. They are encouraged to use all three target tenses in their conversations.

The lesson ends with extra grammar practice.

Skills developed: grammar control, speaking fluency, listening comprehension, and personalization of language.
