This lesson introduces and practises essential vocabulary related to the home and everyday objects, such as furniture and rooms, while also developing learners’ ability to describe spaces. Students begin with an engaging lead-in activity, guessing objects from simple descriptions and identifying items in visual tasks.
The lesson continues with guided vocabulary presentation and practice, followed by reading and listening activities that expose learners to descriptions of different rooms and lifestyles. Grammar is introduced through the structure there is / there are, with clear explanations and controlled practice tasks to build accuracy.
Learners then move on to communicative speaking activities, including describing rooms, guessing games, and role-plays such as acting as a real estate agent. A creative writing task encourages students to describe their dream room using the target language. Additional vocabulary and grammar exercises provide further consolidation, making the lesson suitable for both classroom use and homework.
